Conventional turning and milling

Conventional machining uses workshop lathes and milling machines to remove material and shape a component. Turning works around a rotating workpiece; milling uses a rotating cutting tool to produce the required features.

Our conventional machining service covers custom parts and alterations to existing components. It forms part of a broader workshop capability that also includes CNC milling, CNC turning, surface grinding and engineering repairs. We discuss the appropriate route once the job requirements are understood.

Modifications and repair-related machining

An existing part can provide useful context for a modification, but it is important to explain what needs to change. Include dimensions, the purpose of the part and how it connects with the surrounding equipment.

For a worn or damaged component, describe the problem and any constraints on the repair. Send available drawings through the enquiry form and use email or WhatsApp for photographs. We will discuss the requirement before confirming the work.

One-off requirements and ongoing work

Our general engineering service supports one-off requirements and ongoing projects for industrial, commercial and private customers. Established in 2000, the business now operates four workshops in Killarney Gardens, Cape Town. You can discuss a single component without needing to represent a large company.
